Even More Cats

When Sophie got wind of that last post, she was mad! How dare I post such an unladylike picture of her! So I agreed to take a kinder, gentler picture of her, depicting her unprecedented beauty. She also wanted everyone to know how loved she was in her last home, that they would never have given her up for adoption.

Meanwhile, after Beasey's departure, the people I work with at SOHS began to elbow me (nod-nod, wink-wink) about "replenishing" the cat population at Rancho Krause (soon to become Rancho Krause-Zinkand, or some variation thereof). I held off, until I was there one Saturday helping a friend pick out a puppy. A gang of kittens cavorted in a nearby display crate reminiscent of the freshly created gremlins in the 1984 movie. One of them tried to stay mellow while the others dive-bombed each other from higher shelves. My heart went out to him. Long story shortened: I ended up getting both him and his brother. When I arrived home they jumped out of the box like circus performers and began tumbling all over the house. They haven't stopped since, except to eat and sleep. Sometimes it feels like I'm in the middle of a bar fight.
Sophie is still mystified as to why I would do such a thing, but she's dealing. We're working on new pearl necklace for her.

Wedding Update: Probably next spring. We're getting together in New York this August for a vacation which includes meeting family and friends. Should be a lot of fun!
My heart sighs due to another chilly winter alone (with phone dates almost every night), but I just got a great deal on several cords of madrone firewood, so that's a plus. And of course, ski season will definitely help pull me through.

And the bathroom... is still being dug and planned. I got so busy with work and everything that well, you know how that goes... swimming seems to take precedence on these hot days... luckily, the vinca was successfully relocated and is starting to take root.
